DF Studio is pleased to announce that the following changes have been deployed to all accounts throughout this January. Up-to-date information on the latest releases can always be found in the Release Notes listing.


  • Metadata imports from CSV can now match assets based on the DFS ID instead of the asset name.
  • In cases where metadata fields are written to files, the publication of real-time messaging for metadata change events is not triggered until after the files have been updated.
Asset Storage
  • The account Storage report has been moved to an overlay, in order to reduce the interruption in workflows when consulting this resource.
  • The Storage report now provides an asset count as well as a measurement of the total storage used.
File Management & Organization
  • Visuals have been refreshed throughout, bringing greater clarity and consistency.
Security & Protection
  • User accounts will now require verification any time the e-mail address is changed.

Bug Fixes

  • Addressed a bug which caused a broken view when a Messenger list contained no Messengers, for example when searching for Messengers or filtering the Messenger History.
  • Clarified the functionality of features such as downloading when viewing a Messenger preview from the Messenger configuration overlay.
  • Fixed an issue which prevented the use of the Viewing Preferences while previewing a Messenger from the Messenger configuration overlay.
  • Addressed an issue which caused failures in updating metadata values when imported from a CSV with extra spaces in the header column of the fields.
  • Fixed a bug which caused white boxes to appear in some fields of the metadata editor.
Account Administration
  • Resolved a bug which prevented the “Log Out” button from appearing for Upload Users.
  • Fixed the “Close Account” button in the Billing settings to make it more usable.
  • Expanded the range of options when setting a user’s time zone in DF Studio.
  • Addressed an issue which caused the trial expiration warning not to appear in advance of an account’s trial period end date.
  • Fixed a bug which caused billing information to be formatted improperly when transmitted to the payment processor.
  • Clarified the explanation of the rules for valid user passwords.
  • Corrected a problem which degraded the controls available for configuring viewable columns when addressing the viewing preferences for Library list views.
  • Improved the readability of error screens.
File Management & Organization
  • Resolved a bug which caused inaccurate asset filenames to be shown in 1-Up view in certain situations.
  • Addressed an issue which caused inaccurate results when conducting an Advanced Search for certain terms using the keywords field.
  • Improved the performance of Quick Look to make the feature accessible in more contexts.
  • Fixed an inconsistency in the operation of type-ahead menu suggestions when configuring an Advanced Search for a field with defined Metadata Terms.
  • Resolved an issue which caused the Navigation Path display to become outdated after moving a Project or Collection into a different folder.
  • Clarified the functionality of the quick-access buttons when used from 1-Up view.
  • Addressed a problem which caused failures when performing multiple Move to Setup operations in the same Project.
  • Added clarity to the “Upload” button in the Folder Inspector.
  • Fixed a bug which would display certain special characters inaccurately in the Inspector sidebar.
  • Corrected an issue which caused the Dashboard icon to display improperly in some views.
  • Improved the display of video previews when accessed from 1-Up view.
  • Resolved a problem which displayed errors when attempting to download DF Studio previews of assets for which no previews exist.
  • Fixed an issue which caused buttons to appear in the “New” menu for the creation of items a user’s permission settings did not grant the ability to create.
  • Addressed a bug which prevented switching between view options while viewing the Bin.
  • Updated the appearance of the “Clear Bin” buttons for improved clarity.
  • Resolved a problem which caused the Bin button to display its “empty” styling in cases where the Bin was not empty.
Security & Protection
  • Improved the operation of Browser Verification so that codes do not fail when a space is accidentally added at the beginning or end.
