Advanced asset filters and expanded group options

DF Studio is pleased to announce that the following changes have been deployed to all accounts throughout this May. Up-to-date information on the latest releases can always be found in the Release Notes listing.

Enhancements

Account Management

• Control areas in the Contacts overlay have been refreshed for clarity.
• The process of selecting and deselecting contacts in the Contacts overlay now functions more intuitively.

Asset Workflows & Organization

• Asset filters have been updated to provide greater customizability and faster performance when filtering the assets shown in a Project or Collection.
• Assets in list and thumbnail views can now be grouped by People, Key People, or Key Composition (singles vs. groups of Key People tagged).
• Asset groups related to People Recognition and Person(s) Shown are now available in Collection contexts as well as Projects.
• Group headers have been updated with additional features, allowing the grouping criteria to be changed from any group header, rather than a custom menu in the workspace header.
• Type-ahead functionality has been enhanced for navigating quickly to a specific group from the group selector.
• The Project Details view now opens in an overlay, streamlining the process of updating information and maintaining more consistent context.
• Controls for modifying the select levels of multiple selected assets have been moved to the Multi-Asset Inspector (right sidebar).
• The behavior of selecting and navigating folders in Column View has been updated to be more responsive and intuitive.
• The “No Setup” option has been separated from the “Existing Setups” list to reduce confusion.
• The Quick Look PDF viewer has been updated with improved functionality.
• Visual refreshes have improved the alignment and consistency of several areas where information is listed or form input is gathered.

Security & Protection

• Watermarks using the “Tile” option no longer offer configuration of the watermark’s position, as it is automatically tiled across the entire image.

Bug Fixes

Messengers

• Mitigated a defect which could result in Metadata Import operations completing without transferring the most up-to-date metadata values for the included files.
• Added clarifying information to the Messenger Expiration overlay, for situations in which a Messenger recipient’s approvals may still be pending.

Metadata

• Resolved an issue which prevented the Full Metadata listing from the Asset Inspector or overlay from updating when changes were made to metadata fields in DF Studio.
• Addressed an error which could occur when importing metadata from a CSV file with unnamed columns under certain circumstances.
• Fixed a problem which could cause items in metadata fields such as keywords to shift position while being edited.

Asset Workflows & Organization

• Resolved a bug which displayed the names of empty Setups in some DF Studio Project views.
• Mitigated an anomaly which would navigate users to the Library folder after deleting a folder, rather than the specific location from which the folder was deleted.
• Patched a fault which caused PDF proofsheets to be generated with assets in an unpredictable order that did not match the order shown in DF Studio.
• Corrected a defect which prevented links to Projects and Collections from opening when clicked in the Activity Monitor overlay.
• Rectified a problem which could cause delays updating the visual representation of select levels when marking Selects on assets in an especially rapid sequence.
• Fixed a bug which affected the reliability of filtering assets to those with Notes content.
• Corrected an anomaly which could cause folder contents to appear empty when switching to Column View.
• Resolved minor visual inconsistencies with the behavior of toggle controls in DF Studio.
• Patched an issue which could cause the top of the proofsheet to scroll partially behind the header bar when opening a Project or Collection.
• Corrected a defect which unnecessarily limited the width of the filter menu bar in Files View.
• Fixed a problem which could cause repeated refreshing of the File Inspector in Files View.
• Patched an error which caused the “Preview” and “Save” buttons in the Web Portfolio overlay to become disabled when activating watermarking.

Security & Protection

• Updated the Mobile Messenger codebase to strengthen against the possibility of malicious misuse.
