DF Studio Updates – July 2013
The DF Studio team is pleased to announce another update to DF Studio. While this update was primarily focused on under-the-hood changes to keep things humming along smoothly, we also added a number of notable improvements that can been seen in the user interface.
First and foremost of these is the new move feature that allows images to be moved from one project to another. This new feature can be a huge time saver when images get uploaded into the wrong project. Rather than having to delete and re-upload the files, they can now easily be moved to a new or existing project by either using the Move to New Project or Import from Bin actions. (See the DF Studio Knowledge Base for more details.)
Several improvements were made to our Live Messenger feature:
- Recipients can now sort images by date, allowing them to easily see the most-recently added photos.
- Originals may now be included in Live Messengers.
- Live Messengers may now be created empty, allowing them to be created as a placeholder and sent in advance of an upcoming shoot.
As noted above, substantial back-end changes have been made to improve performance, reliability and security. On the performance side, Messenger delivery times should be substantially improved and requests to and from Cold Storage will no longer cause delays in processing uploaded images.
Fixes in this release include:
- Fixed a problem in the Messenger Import feature where images would not import if the sender had selected the Show Mine option to share an edit, but had not created an edit.
- Fixed a problem that was causing very small images to be scaled up when creating the DF Studio previews, making them look blurry and pixelated. Small images now correctly display at their original size.
- When sending a Messenger with custom-sized files, the image metadata was being stripped from the file. Custom-sized files now retain the original metadata information.
- Fixed a problem in Approval Messengers that caused the filter for viewing only approved images not to function properly.
- Fixed a problem that caused the storage information displayed on the Billing and Usage page not to display the latest information. The summary information is now updated daily along with the date and time that the information was last updated.
- Fixed a problem when viewing Messenger search results that made it impossible to view beyond the first page of results.
