Enhancements to contacts and Person/Role workflows
Software Development Update: August 2025
DF Studio is pleased to announce that the following changes have been deployed to all accounts throughout this August. Up-to-date information on the latest releases can always be found in the Release Notes listing.
Enhancements
Metadata
- The Person/Role input field can now optionally be configured as a single text input, rather than separate inputs for Name and Role.
- Recognized people saved as Key People at the Project or folder level can now be set to Named status within the Project if desired.
- Names from the Person/Role typeahead menu now match from the beginning of a name.
- Typeahead menus now show existing values only, and no longer display the current search term at the top of the menu while typing.
- Semicolons are now supported as a delimiter for imported CSV files.
Account Management
- It is now possible to highlight text in the Contacts overlay without selecting the associated contact in the list.
Asset Workflows & Organization
- The experience of navigating grid-based proofsheet views using the arrow keys from the keyboard has been refined for more intuitive behavior when viewing assets in groups in which some rows of the grid are not completely filled.
API & Integration
- The performance of file downloads using the
fileURL resource in the DF Studio Enterprise Asset API has been improved.
Bug Fixes
Messengers
- Mitigated a flaw which caused an associated name from the contacts list to be added to the email address of a Messenger recipient when only an email address was provided.
- Resolved an anomaly which caused the approval invalidation button to appear active for specific Messenger recipients whose approvals were not eligible for invalidation.
- Improved the alignment of buttons in the Messenger recipients view.
Metadata
- Fixed a bug which caused name and role information to be cleared when switching the person editor between applying changes to a single face or all matching faces.
- Patched a fault which caused the People View interface to become unresponsive when the last person editor shown became hidden from view before closing.
- Corrected a flaw which prevented switching a Key or Named person directly to Key or Named after switching them to Unknown.
- Addressed a misconfiguration which could allow People Recognition to recognize the same face multiple times in one image.
- Resolved an issue which prevented the person editor atop the People dashboard’s person view from closing automatically when saving information.
- Streamlined the behavior of the name and role menus in the person editor, so that they consistently open when selecting the text input field.
Account Management
- Corrected awkward styling and behavior which could sometimes appear in the Storage Overview overlay.
- Fixed a misconfiguration which caused the “Import Contacts” button to be activated before a VCF file was selected for import.
Asset Workflows & Organization
- Adjusted a configuration which caused the search results list to exhibit unexpected behavior when some matches were filtered from view due to permission restrictions.
- Mitigated a fault which caused the same placeholder icon to be displayed in the Quick Look overlay for all non-image file types.
- Resolved a bug which caused the Quick Look overlay to present non-PDF document types using the PDF viewing interface.
- Addressed a bug which caused 1-Up View to appear empty when no preview was available.
- Fixed a misconfiguration which could cause the selected item in an options menu to be scrolled out of view.
