Version 2024.2-2024.2.2

The latest software update from DF Studio is now being deployed to all accounts. This version introduces the People feature, Upload Reports, a new Outline Navigator for visualizing Project information, and includes a record number of enhancements and improvements across many areas of DF Studio. All of the new and updated features are listed below, along with tweaks and fixes to tune up performance and address a number of minor issues. Enhancements

Selects & Approvals

• It is now possible to invalidate the approvals information from a specific recipient’s Approval Messenger link.

Metadata

• A new custom metadata configuration supports capturing and setting the Star Rating of an image, and improves the reliability of searches pertaining to that field.
• The process of saving metadata updates to a single asset has been optimized for quicker performance.
• An adjustment to the metadata configuration for the Badge field allows multiple badges to be specified for each asset, if desired.
• A new standard metadata template is in place for accounts that are not configured with custom metadata fields, organized and updated to be more useful and more compatible with other image management tools.

Uploads & Assignments

• An Upload Report is now generated at the completion of each upload, with an email notification sent to the uploader—and to the creator of the Assignment, for uploads based on Assignment Keys.
• The Upload Monitor now includes Sleep Lock, an automatic feature to prevent the computer from sleeping and interrupting an ongoing upload transfer.
• Error reporting in the Upload Monitor has been improved for greater clarity.
• The Upload Key overlay has been restyled to make it more intuitive.

Asset Workflows & Organization

• In proofsheet views, assets are grouped into pages of 100 assets apiece, by default. This grouping can now be changed to Setups, select levels, or approval states.
• Group headers in proofsheet views have been enhanced to provide more information about groups and offer instant navigation to other group headers in the view.
• The Outline Navigator provides a compact and customizable visual summary of asset information for an entire Project or Collection.
• The “selected” border on assets has been improved to be more responsive when navigating rapidly through a large set of assets.
• When selecting a Project or Collection in Column View, a preview panel now shows some relevant information about the selected item.
• The Rename Assets overlay has been restyled for clarity, and has gained a Live Preview option which previews the adjusted filenames in real time as the renaming configuration is updated.

Bug Fixes

Metadata

• Adjusted the behavior of the Metadata Inspector when navigating away from the currently selected asset with unsaved changes in a metadata field, to prevent the loss of any unsaved data.
• Fixed an issue which could result in the controls at the top of the metadata editor being scrolled off-screen.
• Resolved a bug which prevented using the appropriate keyboard shortcuts to navigate while using the Metadata overlay.
• Improved the alignment and layout of sections within the Metadata overlay.
• Mitigated an anomaly which allowed the pop-up date picker from a date metadata field to interfere with the layout of other parts of the metadata editor.
• Restored the colored outline indicator to the selected asset count in the metadata editing views.
• Patched a fault which caused the metadata editing keyboard shortcuts to become inactive while entering values in a text field.

Uploads & Assignments

• Corrected a defect which caused the Upload Monitor progress wheel to show 100% before the last assets had finished uploading, in transfers involving more than 200 files.
• Rectified a problem which could create uploading or importing tasks with zero files involved.
• Addressed an issue which caused TIFF files not to generate asset previews under certain conditions.

Account Management

• Fixed a bug which would disable previously inactive user accounts that had been re-activated if the user didn’t log in on the same day their account was re-activated.
• Corrected a misconfiguration which forced the link entered in the “Website URL” field of the account settings to lower case.

Asset Workflows & Organization

• Addressed an anomaly which allowed scrolling beyond the last row of images in a proofsheet.
• Resolved a fault which caused an empty proofsheet after deleting the last assets from a Setup.
• Patched an error which disabled the quick-access buttons in the Navigation Sidebar after switching to Files View.
• Mitigated a defect which permitted the current folder to be selected as its own destination in the Move to Folder overlay, which would result in an error.
• Resolved an error which would result when search results included a recently deleted asset.
• Rectified a problem which would present an empty proofsheet when removing an asset from search results within a Collection.
• Improved the performance of loading the initial page view in very large Projects.
• Fixed an issue which could cause errors when deleting a Project containing a very large number of assets.
• Corrected an issue which presented errors when attempting to delete multiple Projects from the Projects summary if those Projects resided in different folders.
• Adjusted the proofsheet view to ensure that the appropriate group header is visible when highlighting the currently active asset.
• Addressed a problem which prevented the full name of Projects or Collections with long names from being displayed in Column View.
• Fixed an issue which did not activate the Name input box automatically when creating a new Project, Collection, or Library folder.
• Resolved a bug which could present incorrect information in the File Inspector under specific conditions when selecting multiple files in Files View.
• Fixed a problem which caused the wrong assets to appear selected when changing from Files View to another view and then refreshing the page.
• Mitigated an anomaly which prevented the Return/Enter key from submitting a search when finding assets within a Project or Collection.
• Rectified a defect which could cause an error to display in the Project Inspector when loading the Projects summary in certain circumstances.
• Clarified the message Inspector when viewing the list of Web Portfolios.
