DF Studio is pleased to announce that the following changes have been deployed to all accounts throughout this October and November. Up-to-date information on the latest releases can always be found in the Release Notes listing.


Selects & Approvals
  • The overlay for creating and combining Edits has been updated to make the image options clearer.
Account Administration
  • To prevent interruptions in authentication access, users who log in to DF Studio via single sign-on (SSO) will no longer be able to modify their email address.
  • Visual updates have increased consistency among the page headers of various screens in the Settings section.
File Management & Organization
  • Visual updates have improved the clarity of icons and the consistency of controls across all views and DF Studio features.
  • Under-the-hood enhancements have been made throughout DF Studio to streamline functionality and improve reliability and performance.
  • The control button for viewing or hiding the “filmstrip” navigation underneath the 1-Up and 2-Up views has been relocated to the bottom toolbar along with similar controls for other visual features.
  • The folder picker has been updated for improved clarity and performance when choosing a folder to house Projects, Collections, or other folders.
  • The Bookmarks menu is now scrollable in cases where a large number of items are bookmarked.
  • Strict constraints on the width and height of page elements have been removed.
  • Controls for switching views have been improved to be more concise and visually intuitive.
  • The 2-Up (Compare) view has been enhanced and improved to match the style and performance of 1-Up view.
  • In order to make the names of DF Studio containers such as Projects or Collections easier to identify in areas where space is short, such as the Navigational Sidebar, these names are now truncated from the center.
  • The Bookmarks menu is now independently scrollable, allowing large numbers of bookmarks without obstructing the Bin button or other elements of the interface.
Security & Protection
  • The VPS overlay has been removed from generic icons like the Project and Collection icon, which contain no visual content to protect.
  • The controls for enabling and disabling VSP have been clarified.
API & Integrations
  • Enabled the publication of real-time messaging for metadata change events regarding all assets in an account.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug which caused asset counts to become unreliable when using the Edits menu to filter to Edits in situations where one of the Edits in the menu was derived from a LIVE Messenger.
  • Addressed a configuration issue which caused LIVE Messengers to have different default sort orders when sent from Collections compared to Projects.
  • Corrected an issue which would reset the sort order when switching between Setups in a Messenger.
  • Resolved a bug which could cause certain Messengers to display more assets on the initial page load than intended.

  • Corrected a problem which would cause unexpected results when submitting the “New Edit” overlay without providing a name for the Edit.
  • Fixed the menu icon for metadata menus; it now rotates correctly when menus are open.
  • Addressed a bug that caused metadata imports to fail if empty values were submitted to fields with pre-defined option ranges.
  • Corrected a configuration which caused the Metadata Inspector to scroll automatically during data input.
  • Resolved an issue which would cause the “Export As Text” overlay to expand beyond its boundaries in accounts with a large list of exportable fields.
Uploads & Assignments
  • Fixed a bug which caused column sorting on the Assignments page to be unreliable for non-admin users.
Downloads & Transfers
Account Administration
  • Fixed the button for returning to the standard login page on accounts for which the branded login view is the default.
  • Resolved a bug which caused account access information to be omitted from the Add User page under certain circumstances.
  • Addressed an issue which made the “Save” and “Cancel” buttons on the Security Settings page inaccessible in some situations.
File Management & Organization
  • Improved the reliability of the space bar keyboard shortcut for dismissing the Quick Look overlay when reviewing a PDF.
  • Adjusted the layout of the Collections view to be more accessible on small screens when no assets are present.
  • Fixed a bug which affected the display of special characters within tooltips in the Navigation Path.
  • Restored the controls for hiding and showing badges and select levels to 1-Up and 2-Up views.
  • Addressed a glitch which caused unexpected skips when using the keyboard arrows to move from one selected item in a Library list view to the item above it.
  • Fixed a problem which caused unexpected results when using the “Date Created” criteria in an Advanced Search.
  • Improved the appearance of the Quick Look overlay for file types that don’t include a visual preview.
  • Clarified the icon for conducting a DF Studio search.
  • Updated the icon for returning the currently selected asset when scrolling the “filmstrip” navigation underneath the 1-Up and 2-Up views.
  • Corrected an issue which degraded the functionality of the Quick Look overlay for assets with double-quotes (") in their filenames.
  • Resolved a bug which caused the confirmation message to persist after setting a Project or Collection keyframe, even when navigating to another asset.
Security & Protection
  • Corrected a misconfiguration which allowed images to be removed from a Project in some cases by users without the correct permission settings.
